Fire Alarm Systems

As an independent company, we offer our clients impartial advice, building our reputation by listening to their specific requirements and providing solid design solutions and reliable systems at competitive prices.

We are able to maintain our position at the forefront of technology by partnering with manufacturers who share our ethos of high quality, excellent customer service and comprehensive technical support.

Our systems cover a broad range of solutions, from the simpler conventional products to the most complex multi-panel and loop systems.

All products carry the latest LPCB approvals and are designed to the latest British Standards.

Modern fire alarm systems provide accurate and automatic fire and smoke detection and alert to the build-up of smoke and heat and are mandatory in almost all office and public buildings.

They need to:

  • Quickly and effectively warn building occupants of fire, suspected fire or smoke
  • Warn emergency services of an incident
  • Automatically deploy fire prevention measures like sprinklers or automatic fire doors

Wireless Fire Alarm Systems

Wireless fire alarms enable cable-free communication between detectors, sounders and the main control panel. It’s an increasingly popular option as it:

  • Significantly reduces installation time and disturbance
  • Removes the need for running cables – often hard or impossible to install in historic buildings due to space or conservation constraints.

Aspirating Smoke Detection

Aspirating smoke detection is used for early warning applications where response to a fire is critical.

This works by continually drawing air into the pipe network via a high efficiency aspirator. A sample of this air is then passed through a dual stage filter.

The first stage removes dust and dirt from the air sample before it allows the sample to enter the laser detection chamber for smoke detection. The second (ultra fine) stage provides an additional clean air supply to keep the detector’s optical surfaces free from contamination, ensuring stable calibration and long detector life.

From the filter, the air sample is passed through to the calibrated detection chamber where it is exposed to a laser light source. When smoke is present, light is scattered within the detection chamber and is instantly identified by the highly sensitive receiver system.

The signal is then processed and presented via a bar graph display, alarm threshold indicators and/or graphic display. The detectors are able to communicate this information to a fire alarm control panel, a software management system or a building management system via relays or a High Level Interface.
